There are at least two 'big' projects still on my table, two necklaces, but lately I came to focus on my lovely earrings.

For this reason there are two explanations, the first is this new idea of 'cover' pin-earrings that brings me to try and try again (you don't  imagine how many things I have to melt...), to get what I want, the second reason is that I have rediscovered the box of Cloisonné beads.

I really have many and beautiful Cloisonné-beads, and I don't know if they inspire me but I still draw new projects with them as protagonists.
The greatest satisfaction for when you're there that stick beads and shift your gaze to the right of the sheet where you have a sketchy idea, is to be able to calculate almost everything that could be an obstacle. I say almost because as far as I'm concerned it never happens that I can perfectly be 'faithful' to the initial idea. It's normal, you have to switch from paper, from a smooth surface and no obstacles to three-dimensional form, considering distances and connections and make it less weighted as possible.

For this new pair of earrings I have covered the golden pin-earring with Toho beads measure 11/0. The shape is that of an oval that supports this Cloisonné disk of an electric blue color. The pink seed beads remind color of the flowers in the center of the pearl. The techniques are always the same, rounds of Peyote and Herringbone.

Under a window, a passage, a rectangular structure suspended that 'break' these curves with its 'soft' edges and with its pure color, white. To achieve Delica beads 10/0 worked (always) to Peyote and Herringbone stitch.
The copper wire wrapped several times on itself becomes protagonist and also a connective element. Last component is an open-bead Cloisonné.

At first sight  this earring might seem 'too much' load and heavy too, but I assure you that it is really light and visually balanced. Don't you think?

Orecchini con gocce -Earrings with drops-

What do you do when your mind have had an idea, hands have draw it on the paper and then you haven't some materials?

Si fa un ordine direte voi. Be sì, si dovrebbe/potrebbe...
You say, you make an order. Yes, you should/could do it... but there is the waiting, and that is not good, at least for me that I don't have the fortune to have a good shop nearby...

But it must be said that these situations are extremely challenging because they require a solution and allow us to 'grow'.
This is the story of this project.

The original idea was to make a new earring-pin, a drop earring-pin ( a form that I love), all by myself. I designed it in reverse so that dived to maintain this great Cloisonné disk took long time ago on Perles and Co. I realized this earring-pin with seed beads measure 11/0 of an opaque aivory colour, to dampen and balance the brightness of the colours disk. The process is simple, Peyote and Herringbone to get the tip.

The problem has suddenly placed at the time of assembly because I didn't have a drop stone. And so I begun to realize it by myself. At the end this long pendant was made using the same technique choose to realize the drop earring-pin, adding six beads (delica-beads 11/o) at time rather than two to realize the tip of the drop. It's coming off a drop elongated and angular that reminds me at the images of some minerals on my books.
To make it three-dimensional I sewed together two drops and 'filled' them with colored paper.
And finally, golden copper wire 0,51 gauge to join the various parts.

So, never stop to try out... I think I'll try as soon as possible to realize this drop with the seed beads (...maybe will be less pointy).

A presto!
I hope you enjoy it and that it could inspire you for your next project.
Let me know if you have any difficulties. See you soon!

DIY: zucche portachiavi -pumpkin keychain-

Since the autumn it was so good and it arrived promptly on time, and that at home already singing nursery rhymes about falling leaves and noses dripping, today 'we dy ' the blog in orange with a nice tutorial.

So today tutorial on how to make small accessories in the form of pumpkin to decorate backpacks of our children. ^_^

Pronte?
             Ready? Here we go!
For this project, you do not need a lot of things (list material in the picture!), and in any case as I always say you when something is lacking go with your imagination and recycling (although I did :-)), on the other hand, the goal is not win a prize but tear a smile to our children and feel so doubly satisfied.

Cut two oval shapes from orange felt. Fold in half the black felt to form the mouth. With black thread sew the mouth on orange oval shape.

Above the mouth, with double thread, realized two X to make the eyes. With the felt made a small green stem. With the pen write on the tape grogré 'Trick or Treat', then cut the grogré (1,9 in) at the top with smooth blade scissor and bottom with a pinking scissor. Overlap the second oval felt and with orange thread realized 4 parallel and equally spaced stitching by moving the needle from back to front and reverse (you don't need to be precise, then, the pumpkins are not very regular!)

Frayed cotton and put it only in the 3 central loops just formed help you with the pen. Close the work with the festone stitch starting from the top. Warning, before closing the sides of the pumpkin with the stitch insert the cotton and then continue sewing. Also remember to sew in the work  webbing grogrè (at a lower end) and the stem (at the top).

Open the rings, add them to snap-hook and  sew it at  the top near the stem. Stop the thread, hide in the work and cut the excess.

I hope you enjoyed the idea (this morning my babies were delighted and could not wait to enter kindergarten!) and that you will achieve easily.

Buon Autunno a tutti e buon Halloween con i vostri bimbi!!
Happy Fall you all and Happy Halloween with your children!!
