Shell, l'anello col guscio -Shell ring-

Avete preso l'influenza? Qui ad essere colpiti siamo stati io e Federico. In realtà io non ancora mi riprendo, ho la testa pesante come non mai ma non potevo rimandare ancora questo post. Voglio mostrarvi Shell, un guscio con all'interno una perla coltivata verde retrò.

         Have you caught the flu? Here to be affected were Federico and I. Actually I not even recover, I have a heavy head as never but I could still postpone this post. I want to show you Shell, a shell with a cultivated pearl inside of a green retro color.

Anche questo progetto parte da un bottone, gemello di quello rosa della volta scorsa ma di una bellissima tonalità pistacchio. Anche questa volta visto il bottone visto il disegno.

Mentre lo abbozzavo su carta ho ripensato alle coppette in rame fatte da Alessia di Beads and Tricks, qualcosa di semplicemente affascinante che mi sono sempre chiesta se si potesse fare con le perline. Be', mai dire mai perché alla fine preso il tempo per studiare come realizzare questa conchetta in modo da renderla "forte" sono riuscita subito a farne una anche io. Quindi, si può!

        This project starts from a button, twin pink one last time but a beautiful shade pistachio. Also this time seen the button seen the drawing.

While I drew on paper I thought back to the copper bowls made ​​by Alessia of Beads and Tricks, something just fascinating that I always wondered if you could do with the beads. Well, never say never because took the time to study how to make this little hollow "strong", I managed to get on. So can you!

Come ho fatto? Ho lavorato le rocailles 11/0 in circolo, modellandole su un bottone di quelli bombati che si foderavano (o si foderano visto che tutto torna ^_^) una volta, alternando all'occorrenza punti Peyote ed Herringbone. Una volta realizzato il guscio e aggiunta la perla l'ho posizionato sul bottone strategicamente decentrato, quel che basta per lasciar intravedere una piccola luna verde.

        How did I do? I worked 11/0 seed beads in circle, modeling them on a hold button curved lined, alternating necessary Peyote and Herringbone stitchs. Once realized the shell and added the pearl, I strategically positioned  them off-center on the button, just enough to see a small green moon.

Inaspettatamente è stata la fascetta per l'anello a darmi più filo da torcere. Non riuscivo a trovare un "motivo" che si intonasse a tutta la lavorazione. Odio questi momenti e odio me stessa per la mia incapacità di arrivare subito al dunque... Dopo diverse prove ho scelto la tecnica RAW, esteticamente più vicina al guscio.

        Unexpectedly, it was the band for the ring to give me more hard time. I could not find a "stitch" that was intoned to the whole process. I hate these moments and I hate myself for my inability to get right down to it... After several tests I chose the RAW technique, aesthetically closer to the shell work.

Un anello in edizione limitata -A limited edition ring-

Il mio primo nuovo lavoro di quest'anno è un anello. Un anello in edizione limitata perché a essere "limitata" è la materia prima a disposizione: il bottone.

         My first new work for this new year is a ring. A limited edition ring, because the raw material available, the button, is limited.

Forse ve ne avevo già parlato, o forse no ve lo avevo accennato da qualche altra parte (a sì, qui), ma ho ricevuto un bel sacchetto pieno di bottoni "speciali". Sono bottoni "vecchi", affascinanti ma molto contemporanei. Quando li ho visti il cuore mi ha mancato un colpo! 
Non so se vi è mai capitato di ricevere un regalo simile. Intendo che quando ti viene donato qualcosa col cuore e che per di più può essere utilizzato, reimpiegato, trasformato dalla tua fantasia l'emozione diventa doppia. Ogni bottone mi ha "mostrato" cosa puo' diventare, e se i miei pensieri fossero stati nuvolette di fumo ne avrei avute tante sospese sulla testa.

      Perhaps I had already spoken of these, or maybe I will not, or I mentioned it somewhere else (o yes, here), but I've got a bag full of "special" buttons. There are "old", fascinating but very contemporary buttons. When I saw them, my heart missed a beat! 
I don't know if you have ever received such a gift. I mean that when something is given from the heart, and which moreover can be used, reused, transformed by fantasy, emotion becomes double. Every buttons show me what it would to become, and if my thoughts were clouds of smoke, I would have had a lot hanging on the head.

Oggi vi mostro cosa è venuto fuori da un bottone rosa, uno di quelli semplici, grandi e a quattro buchi. Vedendolo  l'ho subito poggiato sul mio anulare destro. Sapevo già che sarebbe diventato un anello, qualcosa di importante, di "ingombrante".

         Today I show you what I have made with a pink button, one of those simple, large and with four holes. I immediately placed on my right ring finger. I already knew that it would become a ring, something important, "unwieldy".

Nonostante l'appariscenza "complessa" la lavorazione in realtà é molto semplice. Peyote ed Herringbone si alternano per ottenere questa forma spigolosa che si avvolge come una foglia intorno alla perla in madreperla rosa. Sotto di essa il bottone separa e congiunge il lavoro ad una semplice fascetta realizzata al Peyote dispari.

        Despite the "complex" flamboyance processing is actually very simple. Peyote and Herringbone alternate to get this angular shape like a leaf that wraps around the pink pearl of mother of pearl. Below it, the button separates and joins the work to a simple band made to peyote odd.

Pochi elementi: perline in vetro, ago, filo, passione...

Ho già in mente (in realtà li ho appena fermate su carta) altri progetti con i bottoni-fratellini verde giallo e blu. E saranno anche loro in edizione limitata ;-)

I have in mind (I have just stopped them on paper right now) other projects with the buttons-siblings green yellow and blue. It will be limited edition too ;-)

Passaggio, di nuovo orecchini -Passage, again earrings-

Ci sono almeno due 'grandi' progetti fermi sul mio tavolo, due collane, ma ultimamente sono tornata a concentrarmi sui miei amati orecchini.

There are at least two 'big' projects still on my table, two necklaces, but lately I came to focus on my lovely earrings.

Complici sono due motivi, il primo è questa nuova idea di 'foderare' i perni che mi ha preso parecchio e mi porta a 'studiare' provare e riprovare (non immaginate quante cose da sfasciare ho...) per ottenere quello che voglio, il secondo è l'aver riscoperto la scatola delle perline Cloisonnè.

            For this reason there are two explanations, the first is this new idea of 'cover' pin-earrings that brings me to try and try again (you don't  imagine how many things I have to melt...), to get what I want, the second reason is that I have rediscovered the box of Cloisonné beads.

Ne ho veramente tante e bellissime, e non so se sono loro ad ispirarmi ma continuo a disegnare nuovi progetti con loro come protagoniste.

La soddisfazione più grande di quando sei lì che infili perline e sposti lo sguardo a destra su quel foglio dove hai abbozzato un idea, è quella di essere riuscito a calcolare quasi tutto quello che potrebbero essere un ostacolo. Dico quasi perché per quanto mi riguarda non capita mai che io riesca perfettamente a essere 'fedele' all'idea di partenza. Del resto è normale, si deve passare dalla carta, da una superficie liscia e senza ostacoli alla tridimensionalità, considerare distanze e connessioni e rendere il tutto meno zavorrato possibile.

            I really have many and beautiful Cloisonné-beads, and I don't know if they inspire me but I still draw new projects with them as protagonists.

The greatest satisfaction for when you're there that stick beads and shift your gaze to the right of the sheet where you have a sketchy idea, is to be able to calculate almost everything that could be an obstacle. I say almost because as far as I'm concerned it never happens that I can perfectly be 'faithful' to the initial idea. It's normal, you have to switch from paper, from a smooth surface and no obstacles to three-dimensional form, considering distances and connections and make it less weighted as possible.

Per questo nuovo paio di orecchini ho foderato dei perni dorati con delle perline Toho  misura 11/0. La forma è quella di un ovale che sostiene questo disco Cloisonné di un colore blu elettrico. Il rosa delle rocailles richiama quello dei fiori al centro della perla. Le tecniche sono sempre loro, giri di Peyote ed Herringbone.

        For this new pair of earrings I have covered the golden pin-earring with Toho beads measure 11/0. The shape is that of an oval that supports this Cloisonné disk of an electric blue color. The pink seed beads remind color of the flowers in the center of the pearl. The techniques are always the same, rounds of Peyote and Herringbone.

  

Sotto una finestra, un varco, un passaggio, una struttura rettangolare sospesa che 'rompe' queste linee curve con i suoi spigoli 'morbidi' e con il suo colore puro, bianco. Per realizzarla perline Delica 10/0 lavorate (sempre) al Peyote ed Herringbone.

Il filo di rame dorato avvolto più volte su se stesso diventa protagonista oltre che elemento di connessione. Ultimo componente una perlina Cloisonné aperta.

            Under a window, a passage, a rectangular structure suspended that 'break' these curves with its 'soft' edges and with its pure color, white. To achieve Delica beads 10/0 worked (always) to Peyote and Herringbone stitch.

The copper wire wrapped several times on itself becomes protagonist and also a connective element. Last component is an open-bead Cloisonné.

A prima vista questo orecchino potrebbe sembrare 'troppo' carico, pesante quasi, ma indossato vi assicuro che è veramente leggero e visivamente equilibrato. Non vi pare?

              At first sight  this earring might seem 'too much' load and heavy too, but I assure you that it is really light and visually balanced. Don't you think?

Orecchini con gocce -Earrings with drops-

Cosa si fa quando la mente ha partorito un idea, le mani l'hanno trasferita sulla carta e poi manca un materiale?

What do you do when your mind have had an idea, hands have draw it on the paper and then you haven't some materials?

Si fa un ordine direte voi. Be sì, si dovrebbe/potrebbe... Ma c'è l'attesa, e quella non è una buona 'amica' per una come me che non ha la fortuna di avere nelle vicinanze un negozietto ben fornito...

            You say, you make an order. Yes, you should/could do it... but there is the waiting, and that is not good, at least for me that I don't have the fortune to have a good shop nearby...

Però c'è da dire che queste situazioni sono estremamente stimolanti perché richiedono una soluzione e ci permettono di 'crescere'.

Così anche per questo progetto la storia è stata questa.

            But it must be said that these situations are extremely challenging because they require a solution and allow us to 'grow'.

This is the story of this project.

L'idea di partenza era quella di voler fare di nuovo un perno, una goccia (forma che adoro), tutto da me. L'ho disegnata al rovescio di modo che si tuffasse a mantenere questo grande disco Cloisonné preso non ricordo neanche quanto tempo fa su Perles and Co. L'ho realizzata scegliendo delle perline rocailles misura 11/0 di un colore avorio opaco, per smorzare e bilanciare in un certo senso la luminosità dei toni presenti nel disco. La lavorazione è piuttosto semplice, Peyote ed Herringbone per ottenere la punta.

            The original idea was to make a new earring-pin, a drop earring-pin ( a form that I love), all by myself. I designed it in reverse so that dived to maintain this great Cloisonné disk took long time ago on Perles and Co. I realized this earring-pin with seed beads measure 11/0 of an opaque aivory colour, to dampen and balance the brightness of the colours disk. The process is simple, Peyote and Herringbone to get the tip.

Il problema si è improvvisamente posto al momento dell'assemblaggio per via della pietra, un('altra) goccia, che non avevo. E così sono incominciate le prove per farla da me. Vi dico subito che alla fine questo lungo pendente è stato realizzato con perline delica 11/0 utilizzando la stessa tecnica scelta per la goccia del perno, aggiungendo per la punta sei perline alla volta piuttosto che due. E' venuta fuori una goccia allungata e spigolosa che mi ricorda le immagini di alcuni minerali sui miei libri.

Per creare volume ho cucito insieme due gocce e 'riempito' la lavorazione con carta colorata.

Ed infine, filo in rame dorato misura 0,51 per unire le varie parti.

            The problem has suddenly placed at the time of assembly because I didn't have a drop stone. And so I begun to realize it by myself. To make it three-dimensional I sewed together two drops and 'filled' them with colored paper.

And finally, golden copper wire 0,51 gauge to join the various parts.

Per la serie non si smette mai di sperimentare... anzi, proverò al più presto a realizzare questa goccia con le rocailles (...magari verrà meno spigolosa).

            So, never stop to try out... I think I'll try as soon as possible to realize this drop with the seed beads (...maybe will be less pointy).
