Regali handmade -Handmade gifts-

Protagonisti di questo piccolo post oggi sono due paia di orecchini. No, non sono opera mia, ma sono diventati miei perché ricevuti come regalo di compleanno. :-)

Questi orecchini tanto diversi tra loro hanno in comune una sola cosa, sono fatti a mano e ve li mostro come esempio di quanto si possa fare con le proprie passioni.

Le creatrici sono Beads and Tricks e Paper Leaf, ed i loro bijoux sono rispettivamente realizzati in metallo (in particolare in rame) e carta (si, carta, ma lo avreste mai detto?).

            Today starring of this little post are two pairs of earrings. That's not my work, but these are mine, I received them as a birthday gift.:-)

Even if these earrings are so different one another, they have in common one fact, they're both handmade and I wanted to show you like an  example of how many things we can do with our passions.

Creators are Beads and Tricks and Paper Leaf, and their bijoux are respectively made with metal (especially copper) and paper (yes, paper, would you ever imagine it?).

Il mio gusto non ha un "genere" preciso, mi piace ciò che mi piace, potrei indossare oggi un orecchino super vistoso e domani uno minuscolo o semplice, insomma, sono parecchio mutevole e mi piace cambiare.

Per una persona curiosa come me poi il bello di ricevere un regalo fatto a mano sta non solo nell'indossarlo quanto prima di tutto di "studiarlo" con gli occhi. Mi piace osservare moltissimo gli oggetti fatti dagli altri, cercare di intuire come si arrivi ad ottenere una certa cosa e  immaginare di avere tempo per poter "provare" (... in un'altra vita magari, fatta di tante ore e tanta pazienza!).

            My style hasn't a particular direction, I like what struck me, I could put on me a flashy earring or a simple earring because I like to change. I'm an interested person, so for me the best in receiving an handmade jewel, is not only to wear it, but also to observe it, and to try how it can be obtained and to imagine of having time for being able “to make it” (...in another life!)

Insomma, queste due artiste le ammiro da un po' e diciamo che questi due regalini non sono stati del tutto casuali (confesso, ho un elenco con su scritto 'Cose che vorrei'...). 
Con me avevo già un orecchino Beads and Tricks che adoro, ottenuto se non sbaglio con la stessa tecnica di lavorazione. Ogni volta che vado lì per indossarli mi perdo a guardare la cura con la quale sono stati realizzati, ne sono praticamente innamorata, sono tra gli orecchini che non mi pento di aver acquistato (e tra l'altro a "scatola chiusa"!).

            So, I appreciate these two creators for some time and these gifts aren't completely accidental (I have a desires list...). I already  had a pair of Beads and Tricks earrings that I love, obtained with the same technique of the ones I have received. Every time I wear them I lose myself looking the care with which they've been realised, I love them.

Questi Paper Leaf sono un pezzo della collezione 'Porcelain' e nel pacchetto oltre a loro ho trovato il cartoncino dipinto a mano dall'autrice da dove sono stati intagliati. Sono rimasta davvero colpita da questa generosità che a mio avviso rende ancor più unico e originale questo acquisto.

            This Paper Leaf earrings are a piece of 'Porcelain collection' and in the package I have find the cardboard painted and carved left. I was really amazed by the generosity of the artist that is also a sign of originality, for me.

Vi consiglio di fare un giro sui blog e pagine facebook di entrambe, scoprirete un mondo di bijoux originali. E magari vi ci scapperà un regalino! ;-)

Scelte difficili -Difficult choices-

Premessa: sono una caciarona. Se voi aveste la possibilità di sbirciare nel mio stanzino la domanda che mi porreste subito sarebbe 'Ma ce la fai a trovare qualcosa lì dentro?'.

Me ne vergogno parecchio e infatti non credo avrei il coraggio di fotografare e condividere mai il mio "tavolo da lavoro".  Tempo fa sul web avevo trovato proprio qualcosa inerente alla condivisione del proprio punto di lavoro, una cosa fantastica, dove ogni artigiano aveva pubblicato foto meravigliose del proprio angolo creativo. Che poi questi banchi di lavoro nel quotidiano fossero realmente così ordinati beh questo non si può dire, sta di fatto che il mio tavolo è collocato per ora nel mio stanzino ed è un punto d'appoggio più che un punto di lavoro. Risata... In realtà per me tutta casa è un punto d'appoggio (mio marito può confermare...) e se vi materializzaste proprio ora qui da me trovereste il tavolo di cucina invaso per metà da feltro e per l'altra metà da perline e bobine di corda (ho vari progetti avviati... mi ci vuole una casa, altro che una stanza!)

            Preface: I am a messy. If you had the chance to peek in my room of work the first question that you'll ask me is 'Do you find something in  there?'. I'm ashamed a lot, and in fact I don't think I would have the courage to photograph and share my "workbench". Some time ago I found on the web something about sharing their point of work, a great thing, where each craftsman had posted great photos of your creative corner. What then these work benches usually were really ordered so well that you cannot say, the fact is that my table now is placed in my closet and is a foothold rather than a point of work. Laugh... Actually for me the whole house has a foothold (my husband can confirm...) and if you materialize here right now you would find the kitchen table invaded by half of felt and the other half with beads and reel of rope (I have various projects... it takes me a house, more than a room!)

Comunque, ritornando al fatto che sono caotica, questa mia "caoticità" si ripercuote spessissimo anche sul mio modo di lavorare. Non so se a voi capita ma quando sono lì di fronte alle mie perline con un progetto ben definito (o quasi) davanti, proprio mentre sono lì con ago filo o quello che è la mia testa incomincia a camminare e a tirare fuori altre varianti a quel progetto col risultato a) di farmi rallentare e/o perdere tempo, b) allontanarmi sempre più dal "traguardo fine". È quello che mi è successo anche questa volta con l'ultimo progetto perlinoso, dove complice la mia incapacità nello scegliere una tonalità di colore e la voglia di inserire per forza un elemento, le frange, mi sono ritrovata a "lavorare" a doppio.

            However, returning to the fact that I'm chaotic, my "chaos" is often reflected on my way to work. I don't know if it happens to you but when I'm in front of my beads with a well-defined project (or almost), just I'm with needle and thread,  my head begins to think and pull out other version of that project with the result that a) slow me down o lose time, b) increasingly move away from the "end goal." That's what happened to me this time with the last beads-project where my inability to choose a shade of color and the desire to put a  element, the fringes, I found myself "working" double.

Sono così indecisa che credo proprio che chiederò consiglio agli amici di Facebook su quale dei due progetti portare avanti anche perché ho terminato le perline e anche volendoli finire entrambi non potrei (mi tocca fare un ordine... che peccato! ^_^)

            I'm so indecisive that I think that I will ask for advice at my friends of Facebook about which of the two projects bring forward, also because I have finished the beads and I could not finish both (I have to make an order... what a pity! ^_^)

Forme geometriche e perline -Geometrics shape and beads-

Questa collana è stata una richiesta. Parecchio tempo fa, non ricordo con precisione quando, feci degli orecchini  e poi anche un bracciale con questo particolare, un "aquilone" a tre facce realizzato con perline Delica e Madreperla. La mia amica si è innamorata prima degli orecchini e poi ha ricevuto in regalo il braccialetto. Non contenta è tornata da me per completare la sua parure. Così, concordato "tipologia" e lunghezza, oggi la sua collana è finalmente pronta.

                This necklace was a request. A long time ago, I can't remember exactly when, I made the earrings and then a bracelet with this particular, a "kite" three faces made ​​with Delica beads and Mother of pearl. A friend of mine at first fell in love with the earrings and then received as a gift the bracelet. 

She wasn't satisfied so she came back to me to complete her set of jewellery. We agreed the form and the length and now the necklace is finally ready.

 La forma di partenza di questo ciondolo è un rombo, figura ben spiegata nel libro "Shaped Beadwork" di Diane Fitzgerald, una straordinaria artista che è riuscita a fare cose meravigliose con le adorate perline.

                The original shape of this pendant is a diamond, a figure well explained in the book "Shaped Beadwork" by Diane Fitzgerald, an extraordinary artist who is able to do wonderful things with beads.
