Orecchini 'Red Cape' Agata e perline -'Red Cape' earrings Agate and beads-

Dalla "scatola delle pietre" sono venute fuori altre due gocce. Trattasi di due belle (enormi) gocce di Agata viola.

         From the " box of the stones" came out two other drops. These are two beautiful (huge) drops of purple agate.

Diciamo che questi orecchini fanno molto Natale (o forse più capodanno) per via della loro estrema lucentezza!

         We say that these earrings befitting the atmosphere of Christmas (or perhaps more New Year's Eve) due to their extreme shine!

Il colore è stato ancora una volta fonte d'ispirazione. Di solito cerco di dare un equilibrio diverso, cerco di contrastare un colore molto luminoso avvicinandolo ad uno opaco, un modo secondo me per renderli entrambi "visibili". Ma questa volta volevo mantenere la lucentezza già presente nella pietra.

         The color has been once again a source of inspiration. Usually I try to give a different balance, I try to counter a very bright color bringing it closer to a matte color, a way for me to make them both "visible". But this time I wanted to keep the shine already present in the stone.

Ho scelto di lavorare con delle Delica black per realizzare il pentagono che avrebbe rivestito il perno argentato, e un rosso carminio estremamente brillante per il "vestitino". Più che un vestitino una mantellina, come suggerito dalla mia amica Laura.

         I chose to work with black Delica-beads to realize the pentagon would have covered the earring-pin silver, and an extremely brilliant carmine red for the "dress". More than a dress a cape, as suggested by my friend Laura.

Questa mantellina di perline è stata realizzata seguendo lo schema classico della goccia dalla quale sono partite lateralmente due ali per "abbracciare" la lavorazione (a goccia) posteriore. Questa è stata la parte più difficile da realizzare. Infatti, mentre per tutto il resto sono andata dritta come un treno qui ho avuto un po' di difficoltà. Non riuscivo ad avvolgere la pietra come volevo. Ho provato e riprovato finché finalmente ho capito che dovevo cambiare strada, trovandola.

         This beaded cape was built by following the classical scheme of the drop, from which two lateral wings come out to "embrace" the  drop on back side. This moment has been the most difficult. In fact, while for all the rest I went straight as a train, here I had a little bit of "difficulty". I could not wrap the stone as I wanted. I tried again and again until I finally realized I had to change course, finding it.

Rocailles e drop beads sottolineano e ammorbidiscono gli angoli di questa lavorazione.

Un disco di mezzo cristallo nero squadrato unisce perno e goccia mediante un filo invisibile.

          Drop beads and seed beads emphasize and soften the angles of this working.

A disk of black crystal square unites pin and drop by an invisible thread.

Braccialetto macramé per lei -Macramé bracelet for her-

Per l'ennesima volta volevo fare degli orecchini. Ho frugato nella scatola delle pietre per cercare le gocce di Amazzonite, volevo lavorarle insieme alla fettuccia soutache ma niente, i risultati non mi convincevano mai e ora il mio tavolo non si può guardare...

            For the umpteenth time I wanted to make earrings. I rummaged in the box of the stones to try the drops of Amazonite, I wanted to work them together with soutache but nothing, the results did not convince me ever and now my table is in a mess...

Sconfitta ho aperto il secondo cassetto a destra della mia scrivania e rovistando ho visto le superduo. In un sacchetto ho trovato una prova, una lavorazione circolare di 12 perline che alla fine mi è servita per avviare questo braccialetto.

            Defeat I opened the second drawer on the right of my desk and searching around I saw the superduo. In a bag I found a test, a circular processing of 12 beads that at last helped me to start this bracelet.

Le innumerevoli sfaccettature cromatiche di queste perline mi hanno portato a decidere che le pietre così non bastavano, avevano bisogno di colore, di contrasto per prendere luce. E allora ho aperto un'altra scatola, quella dei cordoncini dove, tadan, ho trovato questa fantastica sgargiante tonalità fucsia-violacea.

            The many facets colors of these beads have led me to decide that the stones were not enough so, they needed to color, a contrast to get light. And then I opened another box, where is the cords and I found this fantastic bright fuchsia-purple hue.

Un intreccio macramé a quattro fili (due per la base) lavorati insieme per formare due occhielli per lato, e un tubolare di perline delica lavorate al peyote per creare una chiusura scorrevole, così da poter indossare il bracciale da sole. 

              A braid macramé with four threads (two for the base) worked together to form two buttonhole on each side, and a tubular peyote beads to create a sliding closure, so as to wear the bracelet from themselves.

RICICLO CREATIVO: albero di natale con riviste Christmas Tree with magazines

Quest'anno come avete deciso di realizzare il vostro albero? Qui da noi le parole d'ordine sono state riciclo e fatto a mano (of course).

Questo appuntamento è stato atteso con impazienza da mio figlio Edo da quando l'anno scorso ha partecipato attivamente, con ago e filo, nel realizzare le decorazioni in feltro.

            How have you decided to make your tree this year? Here in my house, the watchwords are recycle and handmade (of course).

My first son waited with impatience for this event, since last year he has been actively involved, with needle and thread, in making felt decorations.

Aveva incominciato a chiedermi insistentemente quando avremmo 'ricominciato'... Allora la mia mente si è messa subito all'opera per cercare qualcosa di nuovo, semplice e divertente che ci tenesse tutti e tre uniti e impegnati nel pomeriggio. L'idea è arrivata immediatamente anche perché con due bambini piccoli non ci poteva essere cosa migliore della CARTA.

            He began to ask insistently "when do we start?"... Then my mind was immediately put to work to try something new, fun and easy that held us all togheter in the afternoon. The idea came immediately because with two small children there isn't something better than the PAPER.

Per rendere il "gioco" a impatto ambientale zero ho scelto di utilizzare la carta delle mie riviste lette (I love 'Grazia'!): cosa c'è di più bello e liberatorio per un bimbo dello strappare via tanti fogli senza venir rimproverato? E così a ogn'uno di noi è toccato un compito.

Abbiamo strappato, tagliato infilato tanti fazzoletti di carta su un gomitolo di lana (io ne ho usato uno di lana bianca con all'interno un filo dorato) per creare un nastro lunghissimo che girasse tutto intorno all'albero (il tutto lo si puo' fare senza tagliare il filo, così potrete riciclare nuovamente la lana a feste concluse ;-)).            
              To make the "game" to zero ecological impact I chose to use the paper of my old magazines read (I love 'Grazia' !): What could be more beautiful and liberating for a child of tear off away many sheets without being reprimanded? And so each one of us had a task. 

We ripped, cut and thread so many pieces of paper on a wollen yarn (I used a white yarn with a golden thread) to create a long tape that was revolved all around the tree (you can do it without breaking the thread so you can recycle again the wool when all will be finished ;-)).

Poi abbiamo formato delle palle accartocciate che abbiamo decorato con dei washi tape natalizi e filo di lana rosso e bianco.

Then we have formed balls of paper and decorated them it with christmas washitape and red and white woolen thread.

Le copertine delle riviste essendo più rigide sono state messe da parte per andare poi a formare delle deliziose stelle tridimensionali (confesso, qui il divertimento è stato solo mio, i cuccioli hanno osservato il tutto incantati).

            The magazines covers were stiffer so they were put aside and then utilized to form adorable three-dimensional stars (I confess, here the fun has been just mine, the puppies have observed me enchanted).

Che ve ne pare? Noi ci siamo divertiti parecchio!

Due giorni fa ho scoperto questa bellissima iniziativa:

"Le raccolte di Natale - Handmade Christmas"

Ideata da Alex del blog 'C'è crisi c'è crisi', (da me scoperta grazie a Silvia del blog 'Tine the Lazy' che qui e ora ringrazio per avermi citato nel suo post sugli shop da visitare per Natale ^_^), questa raccolta si basa sulla condivisione fra blogger di DIY, progetti e regali fatti a mano. Ogn'uno è libero di postare un proprio prodotto/link all'interno di una delle tre categorie create appositamente per l'occasione, favorendo la condivisione e la conoscenza tra noi crafters.

Inoltre 30 blogger -The Creative Factory- capitanate appunto da Alex si sono "riunite" e ogni giorno fino al 18 Dicembre si alterneranno per offrirci idee, spunti e progetti per "realizzare" un Natale handmade.

Two days ago I discovered this wonderful initiative:

Designed by Alex of the blog 'C'è crisi c'è crisi', (that I discovered thanks to Silvia blog 'Tine the Lazy' that here and now I want to thank you for giving me mentioned in its post on the shop tovisit for Christmas ^_^), this collection based on shared among bloggers DIY projects and handmade gifts. Each one is free to post your own product/link in one of three categories created specifically for the occasion, encouraging the sharing and knowing between us crafters.

In addition there are 30 bloggers (The creative factory) captained by Alex, that every day until December 18 will take turns to offer ideas, suggestions and projects to "create" an handmade Christmas.

How to follow them? Just enter every day in the blog of Alex where you'll find a preview of the project and the link that redirects to the crafter blog ;-)

I love these initiatives socializing and I admire the ability of these young bloggers... They encourage me!!

Bracciale per lui -Bracelet for him-

E dopo tanto un bracciale per lui.

And after a lot of time a bracelet for him. 

Lavorando con feltro e perline mi sono ritrovata a fare delle prove che hanno fatto uscire fuori questo intreccio. Mi è piaciuto subito e l'ho messo da parte con l'intenzione di realizzare al più presto qualcosa per lui.

            While I was working with felt and beads I found myself doing this weave. Immediately I loved it and I put it aside with the intention to implement as soon as something for him.

Secondo me queste perline si prestano bene per un pattern maschile e l'intreccio mi ha dato subito l'idea di come doveva essere il progetto finito.

Per realizzarlo occorono delle perline piatte e squadrate conosciute come Tila-beads che si caratterizzano per l'avere un doppio foro. Una volta cucite tra loro si aggiungono ai lati le bugle-beads lavorandole al Brick stitch.

            I think these beads are well suited for a male pattern and the plot immediately gave me the idea of ​​how it had to be the finished project.

To realize it you needs beads flat and square known as Tila -beads that are characterized by having a double hole. Once sewn together you need added to the sides of the work the bugle-beads working with Brick stitch.

Per rendere il bracciale un po' più sobrio ho scelto di completarlo con nodi  macramè in filo di cotone cerato avorio. E con lo stesso ho realizzato una chiusura semplice e regolabile.

            To make the bracelet a little more sober I chose to complete it with macrame knots in waxed cotton ivory. And with the same thread I made a simple closing adjustable.

Paranoia

Ultimamente mi sembra di non avere più tempo.

Vivo di fretta, più degli altri giorni, e con un senso d'angoscia dentro. Vivo nel caos più totale, a livello mentale e non solo. Ho tantissimi progetti avviati (e lo so che lo dico sempre), forse troppi ma nonostante questo sono paralizzata dal chiuderne uno e finisce sempre che vado per incominciarne un altro (bisognerebbe chiedere a Freud cosa vuol dire...).

            Lately I seem to not have time.

I live in a hurry , more of the other days, and with a sense of anguish inside. I live in total chaos, mental and not only. I have many projects started (and I know I always say), perhaps too many, but despite this I'm paralyzed by closing one and always ends up that I go to start another (I should ask what that means to Freud...).

A tutto questo bisogna aggiungere i capricci della "mia tecnologia" (pc, macchina fotografica, ecc.) che mi hanno rallentato non poco se consideriamo che per me che sono mamma avere a disposizione un ora di lavoro di fila è un miracolo e, giusto per gradire, le "sventure" familiari riguardo a salute fisica mia e non solo (e qui proprio no comment).

Dal punto di vista emotivo questi periodi mi terrorizzano, mi angosciano. Dal punto di vista lavorativo questi periodi sono tremendi, mi demoliscono, buttano giù quella poca autostima che ho e mi fanno sentire ancora più inutile. Vedo il mondo muoversi ed io non capisco come mai rimango ferma. E mi chiedo se la colpa è mia che non ho ancora trovato la chiave giusta dell'organizzazione del tempo e chissà se la troverò (qualcuna di voi sa darmi qualche dritta?).

            From an emotional standpoint these periods terrify me, distressing me. From the point of view business these periods are tremendous, they destroy me, and throw down my low self-esteem and make me feel even more useless. I see the world go on and I don't understand why I remain firm. And I wonder if it's my fault that I have not yet found the right key of the organization of time and who knows if I will find it (any of you can give me some advice?).

Se siete approdati solo oggi nel mio blog vi prego, non fatevi una cattiva idea... so che posso apparirvi come una persona paranoica, ma sono capace anche di ridere e di solito parlo d'altro... oggi mi dovevo sfogare!

Orecchini molto decorati -Decorated earrings-

Perline vi adoro!!! Tra le millemila cosa che vorrei fare da sempre c'è il realizzare un video di chiacchiere su di loro, per farle conoscere meglio, farle amare e Apprezzare (si si, con la A maiuscola!) e vi dirò che il mio primo video tutorial, che dovrebbe essere qui da qualche parte nascosto nel pc, aveva una premessa simile. Perché vi dico questo. Perché noto che la maggior parte delle persone nutre per queste piccole minuterie un pregiudizio, e di conseguenza un lavoro di perline è 'roba di poco valore'.

            Beads I love you!!! Among the many thing I would always do there is the desire to make a video about them, to make them understand, appreciate and love them (yeah, with a capital A!) rather I tell you that my first video tutorial, which should be here somewhere hidden in the pc, had a similar premise. Why I tell you this? Because I know that most of the people have an injury for beads, and therefore a work of beads is considered 'stuff of little value'.

Se si pensa invece al fatto che questi piccoli, piccolissimi elementi in vetro hanno una loro storia antica e sono nati proprio per permettere la realizzazione di lavori minuziosi, allora forse si potrebbe arrivare ad apprezzare 1 loro e 2 un lavoro di perline e comprendere la passione e la cura che c'è dietro.

Ok, prima o poi un post tutto per loro! Ma oggi si parla di questi.

            On the contrary, if  you think that the fact that these small, tiny glass elements have their own ancient history and were born just to allow the creation of meticulous work, then maybe you could get to appreciate them and the work with beads and the passion and care behind it. Ok, sooner or later a post all about them! But today we talk about these.

Lo so, ultimamente sono piuttosto monotona. E' un bel po' che non realizzo un bracciale o una collana (anche se di queste come vi dicevo giorni fa ne ho avviate ben due...) o qualcos'altro. Il fatto è che ho tante visioni-schizzi che si prestano meglio a questo soggetto.

Comunque, loro, questi nuovi orecchini, in un certo senso si collegano al discorso iniziale perché sono proprio un concentrato di tipi di perline, tecniche e passione. E sempre loro sono il risultato del mio 'staccare' la testa da un progetto che non 'veniva bene' (anche di questo ne ho parlato qualche giorno fa ^_^). Non so cosa succede a voi quando questo capita. Quando riprendo un progetto, lo ridisegno, incomincio a rimetterci le mani su e man mano che vado avanti e sento che mi avvicino a quello che vorrei ho un tuffo nello stomaco e mi sento FELICE. Adoro le perline. Sono la mia cioccolata e il mio veleno allo stesso tempo!

            I know, lately I'm pretty dull. It's a long time that I haven't realized a bracelet or necklace (although these as I said days ago I started two of them...) or something else. The fact is that I have so many visions-sketches that are better suited to this subject.

Anyway, them, these new earrings, in a way they connect to the opening speech because they are just a mix of types of beads techniques and passion. And they are the result of my 'detach' the head by a project that 'wasn't good' too (even this I mentioned a few days ago ^_^). I don't know what happen to you when this happens. When I restart a project, I redesign it, I begin to get my hands on and as I go I feel like I'm closer to what I would, I have a dip in the stomach and I feel HAPPY. I love the beads. They are my chocolate and my poison at the same time!

Orecchini, visione frontale e posteriore

-Earrings, front and rear-

Lo so, lo so, oggi parlo parecchio e avete ragione.

Allora, questi orecchini sono composti da tre parti: il perno, la parte centrale ed il pendente finale.

Un perno "ricoperto" di Rizo. Queste perline, come il loro nome anticipa, hanno la tipica forma del chicco di riso e presentano il foro ad una sola estremità. E' stata la mia prima esperienza con loro e ne sono abbastanza soddisfatta anche perché nel sacchetto ho trovato soltanto un paio di perline di scarto. Le ho lavorate su dello stiff-stuff, aggiungendo le perline in maniera circolare per ottenere questo effetto fitto a petali di margherita. Posteriormente un disco in finta pelle grigio per nascondere il perno.

            I know, today I'm talking a lot. So, these earrings are composed by three parts: the pin, the central part and the final pendant.

A pin "covered" by Rizo. These beads, as their name anticipates, have the typical shape of a grain of rice and have a hole at one end. It was my first experience with them and I am quite satisfied because I have find only a couple of beads waste. I have worked them on stiff-stuff, adding the beads in a circular way to achieve this effect in dense daisy petals. Later a grey suede disk to hide the pin.

La parte centrale è composta da un cabochon tondo (realizzato da me), di una bellissima e luminosa tonalità di verde decorato con foglia argento e pigmenti oro e rame, incastonato seguendo la tecnica Embroidery con perline rocailles 8/0 e 11/0. Posteriormente il lavoro è chiuso con suede viola rifinito ai bordi con rocailles 11/0 lavorate al Brick stitch.

Il pendente è composto da una goccia, un cabochon (sempre realizzato da me :-)) incastonato allo stesso modo del precedente con l'unica differenza che in questo vi è un giro esterno in più di perline rocailles 8/0, e all'estremità una lavorazione di perline fatta con Daghe e Rizo.

            The central part consists of a round cabochon (made by me), a beautiful and bright shades of green decorated with silver leaf and pigments, gold and copper, set according to the method Embroidery with seed beads measure 8/0 and 11/0. Later the work is done with purple suede trimmed the edges with 11/0 seed beads worked at the Brick stitch .

The pendant is composed of a drop, a cabochon (always realized by me :-)) worked in the same way as the previous one with the only difference that in this there is two round of 8/0 seed beads, and the extremity of the edge was embellished by a decoration with Daghe and Rizo beads.

Sono molto molto felice. L'ho già detto? A presto!
